Alexander Paris represents Taft-Hartley funds in negotiations for health and welfare benefits and services. He works closely with fund service providers, including third party administrators and insurance groups. In his capacity as fund counsel, Alex specializes in health benefits transactions and contracting, with a focus on pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) and information technology agreements, including SOC and HITECH compliance. His expertise also includes compliance with the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act
Alex previously served as Deputy General Counsel for a rapidly scaling telehealth company based in Palo Alto, CA, where he assisted with growing the organization from a small, bootstrapped start-up to a mature Series C corporation. As in-house counsel, Alex developed a deep understanding of Stark and Anti-Kickback issues; he has structured physician groups to comply with relevant corporate practice of medicine (CPOM) regulations and state-specific Medicaid billing requirements.
