Fourth Win in Two Months for Novara Law Insurance Defense Team
Novara Law Senior Partner Marc McDonald and Associate Sulvia Alsaigh recently obtained a no-cause verdict in Wayne County Circuit Court – the fourth win in two months for the firm’s Insurance Defense legal team.
The case involved claims for medical bills and lost wages. Plaintiff alleged that the treatment was related to a 2018 accident in which caused disabling damage to his vehicle. At the time of trial the Novara Law team contended that the Plaintiff committed fraud in support of his claims for PIP benefits. Further, the team argued that the plaintiff only suffered minor injuries and that the treatment rendered by the medical providers was unreasonable, unnecessary, and merely done to exploit the no-fault system.
The jury ultimately agreed and found that plaintiff committed fraud therefore finding that plaintiff was not entitled to any PIP benefits. Not only can the Novara Law client pursue case evaluation sanctions as the plaintiff rejected case evaluation, but also attorney fees.
