Novara Law Wins First-Party PIP Trial in 15th District Court 

Novara Law congratulates Senior Partner Marc McDonald and Associate Sara Lilley on their First-Party PIP trial win in 15th District Court in Ann Arbor, MI before The Honorable Judge Burke. This is the 12th consecutive trial win for McDonald, co-chair of the firm’s Insurance Defense Group. 

The suit involved questions of MRI pricing, as well as questions on if the treatment was reasonably necessary. The MRI facility charged the insurance company $5,100 per MRI, while doing what the insurance company believed were unnecessary scans of the claimant.  

The jury came back with a No-Cause verdict finding that the claimant was injured, but nothing additional was owed. Therefore, Novara Law saved the client from penalty interest and significant post-judgement attorney fees.
